The Athanatos Foundation has set aside a certain amount of funds to help women in emergency situations. The expected use of these funds are for cases of domestic abuse or where threats of violence have been made, but we know how crazy life is and are open to assisting in other scenarios. The area we serve is Clark county, WI, and adjoining areas (Eau Claire, Wood, Taylor, Marathon, Jackson, Chippewa). In rare instances (if we have the funds) we may consider helping people who live outside this service area.
We stand ready to:
- Provide gift cards for gasoline, food and groceries, etc.
- Pay for 3-5 days for a hotel/motel or otherwise help identify emergency housing.
- Pay for or provide needed items (that may have been left behind in haste) such as: furniture, kids cloths, personal clothing, etc.
- Provide resources (agencies, points of contacts, etc) to assist in next steps.
- Assist with transportation, as needed.
- Assist with emergency childcare.
- Emergency legal fees (restraining orders, etc)
- More TBD and TBA.
